This is precious Paige. She is brand new and alert, curious and cuddly. I really enjoyed getting to photograph her big pretty eyes right before Christmas!

Best of 2009

Many photographers post their “best of the year” at year’s end….here, I have attempted to highlight mine! ”Best” is pretty subjective…and I can’t really tell you what makes these special other than my subjects are having a really good time….or maybe in some it’s simply an amazing glimpse of their personality…I went through thousands of images….and these were just some that stood out to me….my favs…The best of 2009….

School pictures bloopers

This Fall I had the honor of being the school photographer for 2 local preschools in San Francisco. I had so much fun with these kids!! When each child sat down and I started talking with them, I quickly snapped 15 - 20 shots of each child so I would improve my odds of getting a great shot for their parents’ photo order. There was different pressure than my spontaneous and fluid private photo sessions—a school photo should feel official, and they should be looking at the camera, right?
In the process, I captured some fantastic “blooper” shots….not the one to send to the printer for their official school photo of 2009, but, much too fabulous in non-traditional ways to just DELETE! I love the honesty! Some were downright annoyed or angry with me. Some reacted to my ridiculous stuffed animal props (yes, I brought some with me!) with quizzical looks…and some just decided to ham it up. Nonetheless, some of these are my absolute favorites! So I present to you my 2009 preschool photo outtakes!

You can tell from these images of Ethan that I didn’t have ANY fun at all during the time I spent with him. ;P Not a lot of action or expression. Dull. Ho hum. Just another day at the office…..such a boring job I have.

Oh my gosh these handsome little boys are so thrilled to welcome their new baby sister. They adore her and she just gazes at them with her big eyes. What fun the 3 of them have ahead of them! I was honored to visit their San Francisco home last month. Can’t wait to see them again sometime!
